It was the end of summer and that meant we had a birthday to celebrate. Our oldest was born September 9th so that falls right at the beginning of the school year. So we opted to celebrate a few days early in order to close out summer with a bang.
This year she turns six which means two things....1. She's headed to Kindergarten (insert Mommy's worried and sad look) and 2. She's entering that, I have ideas and opinions about everything stage. All in all, I think I've gotten pretty lucky because she is super stylish and picks things that I normally would approve of anyway. She's the sweetest, most fun loving little girl I know so when she settled on Rainbows and Unicorns I was all in myself.
Since we were (and still are) in the mist of COVID-19 we wanted to make sure we were mindful of how we celebrated. We opted for an outdoor movie night where a small group of friends and family could socially distance and still enjoy the celebration. We lucked out and got the perfect summer evening which we were absolutely stoked about. We bought a projector from Amazon, pulled out all the cozy seats we could find and highlighted the evening with one of Mommy's candy displays (I created a perfect marriage between your traditional candy & dessert set-up with a upgraded popcorn Movie night bar)
Needless to say all the kids (and adults) had a blast and it was a great way to close out the summer. Now her little sister is already talking about her 4th birthday party and how she wants a movie night with rainbows and unicorns. Mind you her birthday is at the end of January. haha! Stay tuned to how that turns out!
