Last November, my husband’s cousin was expecting, and we were thrilled to help her celebrate with a simple yet cozy woodland-themed baby shower. Held in early November 2024, we lucked out with the weather—sunny, crisp, and just perfect for a day of family, fun, and delicious food.
We wanted the shower to feel laid-back and fuss-free, so we kept things DIY with hardly any of the usual baby shower frills. No games or themes plastered everywhere—just good food, close family, and a beautiful autumn day. The fact that we didn’t know the baby’s gender made it even more fun, keeping everything neutral yet charming.
To start things off, we served warm apple cider, which filled the air with that perfect fall scent. For the food, we went with a colorful, no-meat charcuterie board that was all about fresh fruit and cheeses. Apples, grapes, blueberries, and more made the spread pop, while still being easy and light—just the right thing for snacking.
But of course, the desserts stole the show. We focused on mini treats, keeping everything bite-sized and simple to eat. Apple pie-inspired cupcakes brought in those classic fall flavors, while the carrot cake mini cupcakes added a cozy spice. We also had peanut butter and chocolate treats that were a hit. The dessert table wasn’t over the top but had enough variety to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
The cake, though, was the real star—a small, tree stump design decorated with fresh flowers growing around the roots, and little woodland critters scattered for fun. It wasn’t extravagant, but it was perfect for the cake-cutting moment.
In the end, this baby shower was about more than just decorations or games—it was a family affair, full of love and simplicity. We were so glad to play a small part in making it special while keeping everything as fuss-free as possible.
